Jocson House

This is my friend's house tucked amid magnificent pine trees and rolling countryside. It is only here that I find modern, minimal, stark white and blacks blend so beautifully with cabin style exterior against an unassuming neighborhood.

I am greeted by this charming greek totem by the front door

nothing more, nothing less. though absolutely minimal, there is no shortage of style and careful attention to design aesthetics inside the Jocson House

a wall full of pictures

something old, new, borrowed and blue..

sweet little chairs

a door, a nice art piece

a nice art piece, a bed head

..and another door that ain't just a door

not a lot of people I know think this lived-in, shabby style could make anyone ecstatically happy if it were their home. but I think these are brimming with style and imagination.

letter pressing

la machine

type blocks

other metal plates

(to see the details up close, click on the images below)

this outdated machinery used to mechanically press type into paper has long been replaced in the mid-20th century (by off-set printing and digital press) and is making a huge comeback - as huge a fan that I am!
